I am my mainstream primary school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Co-ordinator) over here in England and am always looking for new resources and teaching methods to help the children within my school learn. I think I am really going to enjoy reading back through all your posts and finding out more helpful information. I will be sign-posting you on my blog post today. Your blog has made me so happy :) Teaching at Pempis PalaceSENCO Cat Herderhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16026889857534425125noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6798368475920876945.post-85043408493543211742014-05-10T16:14:41.509-04:002014-05-10T16:14:41.509-04:00Thank you so much for writing this blog! I am a pre-OT student and mom to a 3.5 year old little boy with cerebral palsy. I have been advocating for my son to use AAC to enable him to communicate and am feeling excited as we are finding out what works best for him. I have found that it is difficult to locate information about teaching AAC to a child with multiple impairments, so I am happy to have discovered your blog and all of the resources you share. My son has been having success using a Tobii communication device with auditory scanning and a switch. I would love to know more about teaching core words to a young child, how to know if two switches might be better than one, and anything you might know (or resources you might know of) related to encouraging a child with CVI to use their vision with AAC.

Thanks for writing!

-Rose
lucrezia03@hotmail.comAnonymousnoreply@blogger.com
