Fine Arts

Here is an interactive Van Gogh activity for touchscreen and interactive whiteboards. The Van Gogh Library online is another fun place to visit.

You can use it along with the touchscreen/IWB Jackson Pollock online painting program as part of an art unit or lesson.

There are also a number of art activities on the intellitools activity exchange.

Cause and Effect on a Touch Screen

This little online program, Koosh Generator, could be fun for cause and effect and encouraging upper body range of motion at the same time on a touch screen or interactive whiteboard.

Content Workshop: Free Learning Activities

Here is a website that offers educational activities for download based on the Shockwave format (meaning they run in your web browser, even if you are not online). These are some great, simple activities that reinforce concepts and are compatible with touchscreens and other mouse alternatives. For my learners some of the "Infants" (that just means primary school) and post-16 English as a Second or Other Language activities will be great.

Elmo

Elmo is a big hit with EI and pre-school aged students (and more than a few older kids and adults as well).

Here is a cute site that is touch screen and mouse emulator accessible. On it you get to make Elmo dance. Obviously only age appropriate (at least at school) for EI and pre-school. For more EI and preschool fun with Elmo check out PBS Kids
and Sesame Workshop's Elmo's World, this and other Elmo videos on YouTube (be careful many of the Elmo videos are satire and not ok for kids). Also Enabling Devices and TECSOL are carrying switch adapted Elmo toys. Here are some directions if you want to adapt an Elmo toy yourself.
