Online Switch Activities (for Special Needs)

For most current list please click here.

This is an update of the post listing online switch activities for learners with multiple or significant special needs. The activities listed are chosen because they can be used with switches, they are simple and they are enjoyable. The activities listed are free. Some activities may require set up by an assistant before switch use. Although care has been taken not to include switch activities with any violence or graphic images teachers and others still need to check activities for age and general appropriateness before use.

Cause and Effect (and Press to Play):
Single Switch Scanning or Timing Required (sites may include some cause and effect games as well):
Two Switches (unless otherwise noted you music click in the area of the game and then use tab and enter to play):

  2. Nice list - here's some more:

Nano Games (www.nanogames.com) - include an on-line dice plus some great games.

    Some more on-line games here:

    This is worth a look:

  3. I am the developer of the www.Nanogames.com website (mentioned above) where I have adapted 15 games (more coming) all with built in single switch scanning, extensive speed an difficulty control and low vision support. Currently the games allow the user to select from the choice of 15 games then play the game chosen. After playing the game the player can replay the game or return to the menu and select a new game.

This is all likely to be too complex for 'multiple or significant special needs' so i am planning an option that would simplify the interface and just present a single game (preselected) with no other distractions onscreen. Would this be useful for your players (looking for feedback here) or are the current games too complex?

  4. http://www.fisher-price.com/fp.aspx?st=2601&e=gamesByAge&mcat=game_infant&site=us also has games similar to kneebouncers - all you have to do is press any key on the keyboard. (If that link doesn't work, just go to www.fisher-price.com, go to "games and activities" and choose infant games). Some of their toddler games only require "press any key" as well.
