I thought I'd mention that movement recognition software such as VMI (Virtual Music Instrument)could be mentioned. I really like the notion of minimal hardware and software and how it can be configured to detect the smallest of movements to quite large gross motor movements. NovitaTech in Adelaide have conducting some trials with very encouraging results. I have an information file I could email to you if you would like to find out more.
