  1. Folks who sew might also want to check out http://www.independentliving.org/fashionfreaks/ for basic patterns (and some excellent tips) for wheelchair users. A great site!

  2. Helpful hint for parents: Last time I took my 5 year old son (who has CP) shopping for shoes it was a three hour affair not including the time it takes to get him in our van, but including the diaper change, seizure, and meltdown in the store. My sons aide (who is fantastic!) said, "Next time, call me to babysit and just take the AFOs, if they fit in the shoe so will his foot." Brilliant!!! Why didn't I think of that?

  3. Hello everyone! i have a bunch of ideas on adaptable items for special needs children to use based on their needs. Can anyone direct me as to where or who I can contact to give my ideas too. I just don't know how to begin. I obviously dont have the resources or know how to promote these products. I've worked as an assistant teacher with special needs children now for six yrs, worked one year with emotionally disturbed children and worked another 9 yrs with children in regular ed. I've seen, learned and developed many techniques along the yrs. These approaches have helped many of my kids in learning a new concept or skill. I would love to possibly speak with a company and see how i can go about in bringing these ideas into products.
