Absolutely brilliant.... I was looking for a way to get an unmotivated student... well motivated and he loves switch use and cooking. I will try this! THANKS!
Thanks Terri. Obviously I cut out the student who is running the switch... for FERPA reasons. However the students is blind and HATES the noise of some of the other vocational things happening in the room at vocational time (paper shredder, coffee grinder). Dish drying via fan was an ideal solution as it allowed the student to listen to LOUD music to block out the other noise and still know when to hit the switch from the sensation of the blowing air. Bonus, the dishes do actually dry with a high power fan!
We also use a fan and/or a propped up blow dryer to dry paintings when we do arts and crafts - that way we do not have to wait for the painting to dry before proceeding to the next step and we have one more opporutunity to use the switch :).
