Velcro
Velcro is most likely the most versatile and commonly used tool in Special Education. We use it to mount switches, attach picture symbols to objects, to secure splints and braces, to hang posters and more.
A recent thread on the RESNA listserv has been where to get Velcro on the cheap. Here is what they came up with.
