Alicia at SMD Teacher has begun her own Video of the Day Blog, as a response to my Kate's Class Video of the Day Blog. I have to say Alicia's blog is fantastic, she involves her students in choosing the video and then posts the favorites, whereas I choose a video the night before to play at the end of Morning Meeting as a transition cue as we move into morning ADLs. Also Alicia does not use video's from YouTube, which will be a great gift to many of you with over zealous security blockers in school.
So check it out!

Kate's Class Video of the Day Blog
Starting last week I have been posting a video of the day (VOD) that my class watches at the end of morning meeting in a new blog, Kate's Class Video of the Day. The blog does embed YouTube videos, among others, so it may not work in your setting.
It will feature seasonal/holiday videos as appropriate, rounded out with "Music Every One Should Know" and music that can be tied to either my class's curriculum or to current events or news in our room. Feel free to suggest video ideas.

Video of the Day

My class has been struggling with our music video of the day ventures. More and more video sites on the internet are blocked everyday and we have essentially given up on music videos.
An option that was shared on the Free Technology for Teachers website that will fill 13 mornings of "VotD" (Video of the Day) is CBBC's One Minute Wonders.
Each video also has a corresponding quiz.
